Join us in Paradise...

0730 hours breakfast ashore.
At 0900 hours, our Sailing Masters will go to a chart briefing while the rest of the crew receives and stores our provisions.
At 1000 hours, we will do a boat checkout.
Our galley apes will be serving a self-serve breakfasts and lunches.
We will cook three dinners on board in teams of two acting as the dinner cooks for that particular meal.
After the boat checkout, chart briefing, and provisions are stored, you can make any last minute purchases before sailing.
Our goal is to depart before 1300 hours. We will sail across the Sir Francis Drake Channel to the Bite off Norman Island.
This is about seven nautical miles away.
We will do a snorkeling stop at the Indians along the way.
The Indians were used by the Pirates of the Caribbean as a lookout post.
They would position their boats in the Bite off Norman Island and station one or two men to keep an eye out looking up the Sir Francis Drake Channel for ships of opportunity.
If a vessel with cargo came down the channel, they would attack.
If the ship was a British Man of War, they would duck out of the Bite before they could be caught.
The Indians are an excellent dive site.
Divers can arrange for a dive boat to meet them for a dive while the rest of the crew snorkels.
Then we will sail over to the Bite.
All will go ashore for happy hour at the beach bar.

Today's Sailing Lessons

We will focus on chart briefing, boat check out, provisioning, battery charging, radio operation, and locating where all the through- hull fittings are.
We will have a contest to see who can find the most through-hulls.
Many people do not realize that sailboats have holes in them.
We need to know where they are in case we spring a leak so we then can shut them off.
These holes are called through-hull fittings.
